Looking for some local fun this Independence Day? Come to the annual 4th of July block party on Columbia Street starting around 4:30pm. Bring something to cook and something to share, catch up with your neighbors, and enjoy live music from the Loose Ends band.

Kids are invited to take part in a 4th of July bike parade starting on Cornell Street at 4pm. Bring some red, white, and blue decorations to deck out your bike and then parade through the neighborhood, ending up at the Columbia Street block party.

Finally, as the sun goes down, head up to Kite Hill (at the top of California Avenue, beyond Amherst Street) where you’ll have a great vantage point for watching fireworks celebrations from around the Bay Area. There’s always a lively and friendly crowd on the hill and it’s a fantastic way to celebrate the holiday with your neighbors. Happy Fourth of July!
